Where the Hills Still Breathe - Smithsonian Magazine

In the Flint Hills of Kansas, one of the last remaining stretches of tallgrass prairie, life moves at a pace shaped by land, weather, and routine. This project follows the rhythms of those who live and work here, cowboys tending horses, quiet moments at dusk, and the small, personal spaces that sit in contrast to the vast openness outside. It’s a portrait of a place where tradition persists, and where the relationship between people and land remains deeply intertwined.
